Yeah,
It *almost* works. It performs as expected, until
the amplitude reaches about 10000, or 1/3 of max.
At that point it seems to act like a compressor, and
no amount of input will get it to output a stronger
signal.
Previous versions of ALSA worked ok, but uniform
support for multi-channel cards is in the latest
version, so I want to stick with that. It seems
though for some reason that every program that I
try plays fine, but has some unique problem when
recording. Very frustrating.
I'm trying to write the ALSA list about this, but
I'm unable to subscribe to the list as yet.
