sure it would be great to have lv2 support in ecasound. I'm not sure the
number of lv2-only plugins is that big already. I think most plugins are
available as ladspa or dssi as well.

I don't think lv2 shares a lot of code with ladspa, it would likely be a
completely different beast. What lv2 can do really depends on its
extensions. Since lv2 can be used for synths I guess the midi ports can
also be used to control parameters, but I guess whether parameters are
midi controllable or not depends solely on the host.

I think the lv2 cli tools I've seen so far were all non-interactive,
and thus pretty useless.
