"claim" is not really the correct way to put it, more like Ecasound has
been reported to succesfully compile and run on OSX. Anyways, I knew I was
going to get in trouble if I marketed OSX support in the announcements,
because as I don't have an OSX machine myself, I really can't guarantee
anything -- I have to rely on user reports and hope that there aren't
too many variants of OSX devel environment out there.

Anyways, as many people have asked me about possible OSX support in the
past, I thought it would be useful to let all those people know (via lad
lists, freshmeat, lwn.net etc) that it is now possible...

Now back to the actual issue, I don't think the OSX users here have tested
"make check". The success reports really only cover the "./configure &&
make && make install" path.

... even on Linux the stresstest.rb fails on some configurations. But this
is not usually fatal, rest of Ecasound will still work fine on your
system. And even rubyecasound might work although stresstest.rb fails
(these are rare, but has happened).

This is what has been reported to me. Please post any unexpected errors
you encounter to ecasound-list.
