Hi Scott,

many motherboards today have onboard sound chips, so maybe yours has
one, too ??. Then its vital to route the output/input to the correct
device and adjust the mixer settings for this device. (try e.g /dev/dsp1
..)

I know, sounds stupid, but that's life.. :-) there are many default
settings always referring to the first card, so one can easily get lost
in the mess...
