Just now I removed with YAST glib-devel which took out
gtk-devel. Nothing else complained. Now

bart_AT_linux:~> locate glibconfig.h
/opt/gnome/lib/glib-2.0/include/glibconfig.h
bart_AT_linux:~> pkg-config glib-2.0 --cflags
-I/opt/gnome/include/glib-2.0 -I/opt/gnome/lib/glib-2.0/include

Also the whole folder was deleted by midnight commander
and then begin all over again
 star zxvf ruby-gnome-all.tar.gz

Which of the failed libraries are most useful?
By the way the maligned SuSE updgrades will produce
more inclusions! Avoid gconf and/or gconf2!!
