I still haven't had the time to test the problem scenario you've
described. :(
But, but, one note: have you considered that using a loop-device adds a
constant delay to that signal path. So if you are mixing audio from
multiple chains, make sure all chains have gone through equally many loop
devices, or otherwise the chains will not be in sync in relation to one
another.
