Hi Uwe,

probably this is still a problem of incorrect mixer settings. Try to fiddle
around with every button or control you find in your mixer. Sometimes, there
are controls with cryptic names, of which several must be enabled in addition
to the normal master volume or the capture select button.
What you are hearing right now probably is the incoming signal monitored to
the output directly by the hardware, and the signal is muted on the further
way into the machine, by some still hidden control, so ecasound records only
zero bytes. Look, e.g for controls named "Wave Capture", "PCM", "AC 97 Capture"
and push them up, certainly some things will be named differently on your system,
which really doesn't make things easier...
