Nothing against this. Someone would just have to do it, and preferly to
GNU autoconf/automake/libtool way. It has proven to very dangerous to
anything differently from the GNU conventions. It'll might work on your
own machine, but you can never be able to test all GNU-supported
platforms.

Hmm, I admit these would be useful... added to the ecatools
todo-list. But at the moment, not with high-priority. Btw; I've
written a python script (examples/normalize.py) that comes very
close to ecanormalize. It's already in the CVS. That should be
quite easy to modify.

Well, just a week or so ago, I removed all locking code from
ecasound. These 'ecasound.lock.pid' files were used for making sure
that only one engine was running, but this really isn't any more. I think
the locking code dated back to something like ecasound 1.x.x ... and it
sure looked like it. :)
