You are using a version of ecasound with ALSA disabled. For instance all
the binary rpms at ecasound's web site are compiled without ALSA. To get
ALSA support, you have to recompile ecasound. Easiest way to do is
to recompile the source-rpm: 'rpm --rebuild ecasound-x.x.x-1.src.rpm'.
