A few hours later... It seems I finally managed to fix this. I'll put
it in the CVS right away. I had to do some low-level changes, so this
needs testing. Mail me if you have any problems. In the worst case
there might be problems with multitrack sync. I'll do a development
release if no serious bugs are found.
