Hello,
I started to use ecasound with jack for home recording. I'd like to use
flac, but ecasound seems to have problems with it. The resulting file
can be used by playback applications, but the determination of the
length fails (header?).
>ecasound -c -r -b:512 -f:s16_le,2,44100 -a:1,2 -i:jack_alsa,in -a:1
-o:jack_alsa,out -ea:200 -erc:1,2 -a:2 -o:test.flac -erc:1,2
(I also tried -f:24,2,48000 if that matters)
I can quit without crashing (using the non-interactive mode without -c
crashes quite regularly btw), but the resulting .flac seems to be incorrect:
-------------------
>flac -a test.flac
flac 1.1.2, Copyright (C) 2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005 Josh Coalson
flac comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are

details.
test.flac: analyzed 23592960 samples
test.flac: ERROR while decoding data
state = FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM
-------------------
It also doesn't help to do a
>ecasound -i test.flac -o test_new.flac
Recording in .wav and converting using
>ecasound -i test.wav -o test_new.flac
also leads to an END_OF_STREAM error.
Any suggestions? Do I need to use .wav and convert it later using
another tool?
Thanks Florian
