The size field of the header chunk and format chunk are both 0. When
closing a RIFF/WAV file, the application has to go back to the headers and
write in the correct length. Some playback applications use this to
determine the duration of the file, others ignore it and just use the
length of the file. Presumably, if ecasound is terminating prematurely,
this fix up is not being done.

Running
    ecasound -i:c100.wav -o:c100-fix.wav

fixes the header and the resulting file plays normally in aplay, audacity,
quicktime, et al.
