There should be no human activity with this server during the
recording. I record on my router, and other than network packets
passing in and out (usually low bandwidth at that) this shouldn't be
an issue. There are no cronjobs going during the times I've tried
also.

The filesystem was my first guess (as I'm running reiser4 on my TB
partition) but I have also tried it with that partition unmounted on a
reiserfs partition and I get the same results.

I'm going to attempt building a realtime kernel see if this helps a
bit, if I don't get an answer from the LKML on the best way to debug
this.
