[ecasound] 2.4.1-snapshot20050329; changes in CVS

Hello list,

for those using the CVS-tree directly, I've modified the "autogen-cvs.sh"
script a bit. The script no longer runs "./configure" at the end. Without
extra options it just runs the libtoolize/aclocal/autoconf/automake/etc
tools. The script now also checks for automake version and complains if
automake is too old. Optionally (--reconf option) the script will re-run
configure with existing parameters (=> ./config.status --recheck &&
./config.status).

In most cases just running "make" should be enough after making a CVS
update. If something goes wrong, you've updated the autotools, etc, you
should try running "./autogen-cvs.sh --reconf && make".

For new CVS checkouts, the correct procedure is: ./autogen-cvs.sh &&
./configure && make && ...

And as the subject says, a new snapshot release is also available:

http://ecasound.seul.org/download/snapshots/ecasound-2.4.1-cvs-20050329.tar.gz

Changes since previous (20050317) snapshot are:
        - note: verified to work with automake versions 1.6 and 1.9;
                automake 1.5 and older, as well as autoconf versions
                older than 2.50, are no longer supported; these
                changes only affect users of Ecasound CVS checkouts
        - added: "Supported automake/autoconf features" section to
                 the INSTALL file
        - changed: sed is used to generate ecasoundrc at make; allows to
                   specify a custom pkgdatadir when running make [junichi]
        - fixed: current position of the time crop gate (-gc) was
                 incorrecly increased [alexey]
        - fixed: compilation failed if building outside srcdir
        - fixed: ECI C impl. did not properly release all file handles
                 in eci_cleanup(); for example playing thousands of
                 files with ecaplay would cause the system to run
                 out of file descriptors (too many open files error)
