Looks like it may be a alsa/card driver issue.

sudo ecasound -i:alsahw,0,0 -o:ThisFile.wav
Which is an AMD768 onboard soundcard records the file.

sudo ecasound -i:alsahw,1,0 -o:ThisFile.wav
which is an Ice1712 Delta 66 card does not

ALSA is such a pain to mess with :-(
