where is your alsa input?

if you set the analog input to 44100Hz the Delta 1010 does not
resample/downsample, it just samples the analog signal at 44100Hz.

(on the other hand, many cheap sound cards and on-board sound chips
always resample to 48000Hz, so you might get better result when you
record with 48000Hz and use a good software resample, e.g. ecasound with
libsamplerate.)
