Giving up on suse/gnome I try fvwm2. The add output object protrudes into the no 4 of the six desktops and it is TOO HIGH anyway reaching above the top frame. There is a GTK++ widget error showing too.
I will try now ecmd which uses a bunch of perl modules I never heard of! Regrets.
