My card is a ESS Maestro 2E which works with
the snd1978 driver.
The problem doesn't seem to be the buffersize.
The lowest breaks accually occured with 512 or 1024
buffersize. Moreover i tryed with all kinds of
options such as -z:intbuf -z:db -z:nodb etc.
Strangely, if i increase bitsize to 24bit (eg. s24_le,2,44100)
ecasound seems to be able to handle the overruns,
but unfortunately the output is not usable. (even aplay
is just answering with noise, whereas a file recorded with
arecord in 24bit is working well).
