Hi Burkhard !

Yep, this was it. Deleting something didn't help, so I downloaded
ecasound-2.2.2 and configured and compiled from a fresh source,
now I got the new correct ecasignalview and I see the ascii bar
graphics !!! (and it works with alsa, too).
