Do you get some specific error message?

You should try variations of the following options:

-z:intbuf / -z:nointbuf
-z:nodb / -z:db / -z:db,250000
-b:512 / -b:1024 / -b:2048

... by determining which of these have the most notable effect,
it's easier to find out what is causing the disruptions.
