An initial version of ecamonitor is already in CVS,
'ecasound/ecasound/ecamonitor'. It's pretty crude at this point, but it
shows that the concept works. For instance, it's already possible to leave
ecamonitor running on the background, and it will automatically connect to
all ecasound sessions you start with the --daemon option.

Ecamonitor is implemented in python and doesn't require any extra modules
or libraries to be installed.
