Subject: [ecasound] ALSA ecasound

I am having some problems getting ecasound to work with ALSA. I am on a Debian system.
I am not sure what the problem is or where to start debugging ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated?
giving the command:
echo aio-register | ecasound -c |grep alsa
29. ^alsa_05$, handled by "ALSA PCM-v2 device". (params: label,card,device,subdevice)
30. ^alsaplugin_05$, handled by "ALSA PCM-plugin device". (params: label,card,device,subdevice)
ecasound -i:Parade02092002.wav -o: alsahw,1,10
