        sox (player-effects-and more)
alsamixer (mixer) >>> full featured mixer for the soundcard

graphical apps:
_______________
        aumix (mixer)
audacity (wave editor + more) >>> "good looking" and some good effects
        beatmonkey (to compute beats)
DAP (wave editor + more) >>> I use it for the resampling with time option I didn't found on other graphical apps.
freebirth (drum machine) >>> can't save the set.
        Gmurf (wave mixer)
grecord (a simple recorder) >>> acts strangely sometimes when it uses sox.
        Grip (to play CD)
Soundtracker ( techno tracker ) >>> very good
        studio ( wave editor )
        sweep ( wave editor )
terminatorX ( digital turntable ) >>> very good
timidity -igr ( option "-igr" to have the graphical interface )
