Subject: [ecasound] Real Encoder

Has anyone interfaced with the Real Encoder on Linux? I currently use
ecasound to read mp3's, add eq and compression, and then pipe it back to
lame for re-encoding and streaming. I would like to split it at the
pipe and send it both to Real and Lame. Real can take input from
/dev/dsp. Is there a virtual /dev/dsp that I can feed into and then
route it back to Real? Sort of like a software wire from the line out
back to the line in.....
Anyone else have any other ideas?
While you are still reading this.....
Has anyone though of writing a leveling plugin? Especially to
dynamically gain up low sections and songs.
Thanks!
George
