Hi,

I have alsa0.9beta9 and ecasound from CVS installed. I ran into
following:

$ ecasound -c -a:1 -i:alsa,0 -o:file.wav

The compile went without errors with reduced optimization levels.
Compilation of ALSA was enabled.
