Subject: [ecasound] Possible midi bug?

I'm not sure what may be causing this, and I don't know whether it's a
bug or user error.

I'm trying to create basic midi backing tracks for my
songs. Eventually I'd like to use ecasound to mix these midi tracks
with live input from my guitar/pod and mix the entire thing, but first
things first. :) My song includes a brief rhythm guitar solo before
any other instruments begin, so I've added 4 measures of rest to the
beginning of my midi track. While pmidi (ALSA midi player) handles
this rest nicely, timidity/ecasound doesn't seem to. It leaps over the
measures of rest and directly into the sound.

I can probably use a command line option to cause the midi track to
appear 8 seconds into the recording (4 measures of 120 bpm, assuming
I'm doing my math correctly this late at night :) but I'd really like
for timidity/ecasound to factor in the initial rests in the midi. Is
it somehow possible to do this? Or is this a timidity error?

TIA
