I would have thought that extending midi sync capabilities in libecasound is
the way to go. If ecasound is listening mtc/mmc sync messages it can then
translate these to iam-commands such as setpos. This would mean additions to
the midi system to recieve the sync commands eg -Mmr:device id & then a way
of handling the sync command coming in from that device. What I would really
like to see would be a midi sequencer linked to libecasound .. that would be
very powerful.

Looks a good app if you like the tracker approach to composition.
