There are few nice LADSPA distortion plugins. Check http://www.ladspa.org
- and especially Steve Harris' plugin set. Among others, it has a tube
overdrive effect. For some purposes, it's enough to just use a combination
of ecasound's amplifier and lowpass filter effects. Ie. something like
"-efl:1000 -ea:400" or "-ea:400 -efl:1000" ... and so on.
