Libecasound.so.4 comes with ecasound 1.6.12r10. You can either
try the CVS version of ecawave or wait for the next dev-release
(ecawave 0.2.0d2). These use libecasound.so.5. Another option is to
install 1.6.12r10 back, or only copy the libecasound.so.4. Hope this
