Hi guys!

Would someone answer a newbie's question, please?

I recorded files bass.wav and guitar.wav, both 16,1,44100.
Now I want to mix them together into a (new) file song.wav
(16,2,44100) so that bass.wav starts playing at 0.0sec of song.wav with
-epp:30 and guitar.wav starts playing at 1.7sec of song.wav, in the left
ear. It must be a short sequence of ecasound commands, but I couldn't
manage it (either noise or one of bass/guit silent in song etc.).
Do I have to convert bass/guit to stereo (-erc:) before I can
mix it into some file with -epp: effect? It worked OK if I made huge
(useless?) auxiliary files, but that's probably not the way. Is there
something like

ecasound -f:16,1,44100 -i:bass.wav [?-epp:?] -f:16,2,44100 -o song.wav
[?-y: -epp:?]
while bass.wav is still mono
and then something similar with guitar.wav?

And what if I want to do a similar mixing to an already existing file
(16,2,44100)?

I use v1.6.12r10, SB16 card, on i586 with RedHat 6.1.
(In 12r10 there is not much use of .ewf which might probably be the
answer).

Thanks a lot!

Jan
