Hi David!
   Here's a short idea, which might help. I konow, that lame should be able to
decode ogg, but I suspect you need ogg123 and oggdec as well. Because ecasound
sees the input and the output. You can have a look at ecasoundrc. If you
installed ecasound from sources it's in /usr/local/share/ecasound. If you
installed ecasound from a package then it's /usr/share/ecasound. There you'll
see the settings for decoding ogg, encoding ogg and the same for mp3.
