it would seem that you (and slackware 10 I guess) have a _really_ old
libaudiofile. AF_FILE_AVR was added to libaudiofile 0.2.6, which was
released in Feb 2004 (so over five years ago).

Even more odd is that according to:
http://packages.slackware.it/search.php?v=10.0&t=1&q=audiofile

... Slackware 10 has libaudiofile 0.2.6, so you shouldn't be getting the
above error. Slackware 9 has 0.2.3, so maybe you have some old packages
still installed (partial upgrade perhaps)..?

Anyways, if this is still a problem, you could try passing
"--disable-audiofile" to configure and try rebuilding.
