thanks, this is very helpful!

however, jack_auto 'does not match any of the known audio devices', and it's
also not listed when i do 'aio-register' in ecasound. i've installed
jackosx, and tried with the jack server running (and i did aggregate the
input/output devices)--maybe i need to set this up in any way for it to work
with ecasound?
