[ecasound] ecasound-2.5.2 - does '-evp' at all work ?

I've tried three setting WRT '-ev', '-evp', and here are my findings:

Saying "nothing" I mean I see no output in the place I saw the above
two other outputs. And the word "peak" does not appear.

Is it the way it is supposed to be ?
