I believe I have all the libraries and headers in place.

./configure results in no errors.
make fails with this output:

 -ffast-math -fstrict-aliasing -funroll-loops -DNDEBUG

 .deps/audiofx_amplitude.Tpo -c audiofx_amplitude.cpp -o
 audiofx_amplitude.o >/dev/null 2>&1
 mv: cannot stat `.deps/audiofx_amplitude.Tpo': No such file
 or directory

I do see a similar file:

./libecasound/.deps/audiofx_amplitude.Plo
