Yeah, definitely that was a clear mistake of mine, and should have
never been in a stable release. :( For example, the same check is not
done to outputs.

Definitily. But is a bit tricky, I guess having to escape commas (or
quote the strings) in file/devicenames is more intuitive for
the users.
