[ecasound] Cannot connect to JACK Ecasound with Jack - 'Error! Cannot connect to JACK ... server!'

Hello,

I am trying to get ecasound working with Jack to record a show
tonight.. Things have gone pretty well but time is running short ;-)

Basically, I just want to run ecasound to record from a soundcard and
ecasignalview to monitor levels.

After starting the latest jack (CVS) and trying to do a simple record:

# ecasound -a:rec -i jack_alsa -o recorded.wav

It *appears* that ecasound is trying to connect to jackd via /dev/shm:

# !strace
strace -f ecasound -a:rec -i jack_alsa -o recorded.wav | & grep -i dev
[pid 5421] connect(3, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/dev/shm/jack_0_0"},
110) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

I am running KNOPPIX 3.81 and have tmpfs mounted on /tmp. Jack is
using /tmp/jack:

# ls -ltR /tmp/jack-0/
