It seems that the command-line interfaace has changed between faac-1.23
and 1.24. In other words, you'll need to update faac to 1.24 or newer...
or edit your ~/.ecasound/ecasoundrc to contain:

ext-cmd-aac-output = faac -P -R %s -B %b -C %c - %f

I've not tested this, but based on 1.23 command-line help, it should work.
