need help installing ecasound on cygwin.

I downloaded ecasound-2.3.0 , untarred and used ./configure
-disable-ncurses after compiling everything with make.. make install
seems to exit with this error!

Make[1]: Leaving di.
Make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
Can anyone suggest what can be done.. or a site where detailed
instructions on installing are given.
