update: it didn't fix the problem .. just ran ecasound (which was
compiled again with alsa-lib-0.9.2) again on that large file, opened
vmware, ran win98se, played solitaire (all in the spirit of testing, of
course), switched to fullscreen and back and => poof, ecasound stopped
again .. switching virtual desktops in KDE still does that too (above
all when switching to a desktop that contains a mozilla session).
So, maybe that workaround in cvs would be a good idea .. I'll test it as
soon as it's available ...
