There has been some big changes in JACK's CVS-tree around transport
functionality. This has broken ecasound's JACK support. In other words,
you won't be able to compile ecasound 2.2.2 and earlier against the
current JACK CVS (0.66.0 and newer).

I've just committed a patch to CVS, which will add support for both new
and old JACK APIs, so you can compile ecasound 2.2.3-> against both old
and new JACK versions. This required some new autoconf magic, but it
seems to work fine (tested with JACK 0.50 and 0.66). Still, only one
version (the newer) of the transport APi is supported, so even
though ecasond will work with older JACK versions, you won't
be able to use transport stuff (... most people don't need
this just yet as it's still under development).

PS If you don't use JACK, you can ignore all this. :)
