There's one bug in ecatools/ecasignalview.cpp (replace nnurses.h with
ncurses.h), but otherwise it compiles out-of-the-box and even the test
suites all pass (run 'make check' at the top-level).
It works suprisingly well. The cygwin guys have done a remarkable job. I
mean, even complex stuff like signal handling, the multithreaded disk i/o
subsystem, ncurses, readline and even the network stuff seems to work fine
on a win2000 machine with cygwin-1.3.20. And oh yes, also the standalone
ECI stuff work. I can listen to mp3 with ecaplay just fine (although the
cpu-load is a bit high for some reason). On an old win98 box running
ecasound+mpg123 caused strange crashes, but that's to be expected. :)

I'm pretty sure there is not. JACK is quite a unique package.
PS I actually implemented VST support for ecasound already a few
years ago, but due to licensing issues I couldn't distribute it.
PPS Making a winmm or ASIO driver for ecasound is certainly possible.
I don't have the sufficient knowledge to do it, but I'm willing
to help if someone wants to try this.
