Well, this isn't LAD. ;)

Yeah, I upgraded from 0.9.0rc3 to rc6 because of stability problems. Required bit of tweaking config files, broke a little some apps, (gnome-volume-monitor now gives me an error on load, works fine after that, though) but audio has been relatively stable on my Mdk9.0 after that. (now if only I could get supermount to be reliable..)

Well, you shoudn't be exactly *needing* it, if you don't want low-latency input from other jack-enabled apps out there. Low-latency within ecasound can be achived using low buffer-sizes and realtime-priority, combined with low-latency kernel. (or so I've heard)

Well, I have an old GUS PnP with which I finally have become familiar with ;)
and a MIDI keyboard for control. (PC processor 400Mhz, memory 192Mb)

Some people say that you should use different drives for playback and recording, when doing them at same time. If you keep CPU use at bay, I can't see why you couldn't use that machine for recording.

And then wait in agony another year for the final. :)
