Well, ecasound opens both 'stereo1.wav' and 'stereo2.wav' twice.
Data in chain '2' will be written over the output data of chain '1',
and same for '3' and '4'.
It has been on my todo-list for a long, long time to add
a small validity parser to ecasound that would warn the user
about common chainsetup configuration problems. Hopefully I some day
actually manage this to implement this... It's not too difficult
to make these mistakes even if you're a long-time ecasound user
(especially with more complicated chainsetups).
