Subject: [ecasound] problems installing on gentoo linux

got a new computer and switched from SuSE to gentoo ..

on me old SuSE-System I had ecasound-2.1dev10 installed and since I
thought there were some features in that, that the stable branch didn't
support (largefiles, most notably), I transferred the sources to the dev
version to the new computer ...

compiling worked nicely enough.

but when I do "make install" I get the following error (for 2.1dev9 too):

make[2]: Entering directory
/usr/src/packages/SOURCES/ecasound-2.1dev10/libecasound'

Libraries have been installed in:
   /usr/local/lib

If you ever happen to want to link against installed libraries
in a given directory, LIBDIR, you must either use libtool, and
specify the full pathname of the library, or use the -LLIBDIR'
flag during linking and do at least one of the following:
   - add LIBDIR to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH' environment variable
     during execution
   - add LIBDIR to the LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable
     during linking
   - use the -Wl,--rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag
   - have your system administrator add LIBDIR to /etc/ld.so.conf'

See any operating system documentation about shared libraries for
more information, such as the ld(1) and ld.so(8) manual pages.

... apparently it's trying to install libecasound twice?

I didn't get this error when installing the same package in SuSE .. so
I'm puzzled, since the build process seems to run just fine.
