This refers to the ecasound-devel rpm package. To use ecawave, you only
need the main ecasound-x.y.z-1.i386.rpm, but for compiling you also need
ecasound-devel-x.y.z-1.i386.rpm. If you install ecasound from source, then
you already have the developmenet files installed.

Nope. Ecasound 2.1devX is only needed if you want to use ecawave 0.5 or
the ecawave CVS-version (ie. the development versions of ecawave).
