Because largefile support is a add-on to the POSIX platform. For instance
in Linux you need at least glibc2.1.3 or newer (preferably 2.2).

Anyways, I haven't yet had the time to add a check for LFS support to
ecasound's configure.in. If someone has the time, please go ahead.
