This is in fact interpreted as "ecasound -ev:birds-03-1997.wav", which
again is not a valid command-line. For convenience, ecasound understand
command-lines like "ecasound file.wav", but when doing anything more
complicated, it's better to use the proper notatation, ie. "ecasound -ev
-i:birds-03-1997.wav" (or leave the ':' out).

And another thing, you might prefer to use "ecasound -i:file.wav
-o:null"... much faster this way. If the 'null' output is not used,
ecasound will use the default output (normally /dev/dsp).
