Ok, new development releases of all three packages now available at
http://eca.cx/eca_links.html ... Here are the changelogs:

ecasound:

26092000 (v1.8.3d15)
	- changed: code for parsing command-line arguments rewritten; 
		   now reports about invalid arguments
	- changed: default precision when printing time in seconds 
		   changed to 3 (msec precision)
	- fixed: ALSA 0.6.x updates
	- fixed: few bugs in aRts plugin

ecawave:

26092000 (v0.3.2d3)
	- added: support for effect parameter hint ranges
	- changed: now requires ecasound 1.8.3d15 or newer
	- changed: renamed 'Quit' to 'Close'
	- changed: lots of improvements to layout management
	- changed: user's guide and man page updates
	- fixed: always zoomed out after a processing event
	- fixed: lots of small bugs
	- fixed: better handling of situations where no files
		 are loaded
	- fixed: sane default values for chorus, flanger and phaser
