Well, as ALSA is a rapidly developing project, documentation is always a
bit incomplete. In other words, there are not good docs about the
loopback-API. Luckily it's quite a simple design - it's mechanism to
capture output or input from dsp-devices (emulated-OSS or native-ALSA).
Here's a simple example (dsp1 is a ALSA dummy-device):

|$ play -d /dev/dsp1 /empty1/track04.wav &
[1] 9485
|$ ecasound -i alsalb,1,0 -o alsa,0,0
--cut--
